Holy Week
Marking Holy Week is not an obligation, but it is an opportunity. It is a change to walk with the church, throughout time and through the world, as she walks with her Bridegroom through the most important week in the history of the world. It is a chance to focus our minds on, and seek to intensify our affections for the more important and timeless realities. - David Mathis
We are entering the most important week of the Christian faith. As we reflect on the last week of Jesus’ ministry, let us marvel at his atoning work on our behalf. This week is the culmination of God’s plan of redemption set in motion in eternity past. Jesus says in John 12:27, “But for this purpose I have come to this hour.” Our church will have an honest reflection of Jesus’ final hour during our Darkening Service on Good Friday. This Darkening Service has a particular tone and setting to help us understand the depth and agony of Jesus’ last moments as he died on behalf of his people. We hope you will join us and bring friends/family at 7:45pm on Friday, April 2nd.
Below are some resources we recommend to you as you prepare your heart and mind during ‘Holy Week’. We have passages to read, study guides to download and videos you can watch to help you soak up this last week and worship our great God and Savior.
Each video highlights Jesus’ final days that led to his death and resurrection.
We look forward to celebrating Jesus’ triumph over the grave on Sunday, April 4th. We will have 2 services this year - 9:00am and 10:30am. Hallelujah, HE IS RISEN!
